Nvidia Shield Custom Media Server Set Up

Details

Nvidia Shield Custom Media Server Set Up: https://youtu.be/uqGb1asuXoU

This video will show you how we use our shield for media streaming, i.e. Netflix, Hulu, Xfinity, Youtube, and any other app that is available for an Android device.

As stated in this video our device IS rooted, which means the firmware that comes installed on the device is removed and overwritten. The Shield now functions as a straight Android device without all the Nvidia interface, and gaming capabilities. We knew that we never wanted to use the gaming functions so this was acceptable to us, we just wanted a clean, easy, fast way to choose our streaming options.

CAUTION: Attempting to re flash your firmware (root) could cause the device to become unusable or “brick” the device, you should use caution and not attempt to do so if your not very sure of the necessary steps to do so.

Files we used: (additional files MAY be necessary)
Advanced Task Killer – easy tool to kill apps if they lock up
